We are currently taking submissions for our Spring Short Film Showcase to be held in March 2009 in Los Angeles, CA. We are looking for innovative and thought provoking films by women, for women. Selected short films will be screened in a supportive environment of fellow filmmakers with a Reception and Filmmaker Q&A immediately following.

 

**Submissions are accepted by any women that have participated in making that particular film with their name included on the credits. Submissions from Writers, Directors, Producers, Actresses, Script Supervisor, Makeup Artist, Location Scout, Post Production, Editor, etc… are ALL accepted.**


PLEASE NOTE: Name must be included in the film credits and MUST have written consent from the Producer(s) to showcase the film.

Melissa admits to watching “way too much TV” as a child and her favorite shows like Charlie’s Angels and Bionic Woman were action-packed and starred strong, physically adept female leads.

“I am what I do,” says Melissa and she couldn’t be more content.
Melissa has gone on to work on films such as Final Destination, Along Came a Spider, The Last Samurai, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Shooter, Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and MORE!

Latin American films were again the big winners at the 59th Berlin Intl. Film Festival on Saturday, with this year’s Golden Bear going to the first ever Peruvian pic to screen here, Claudia Llosa’s “La teta asustada” (The Milk Of Sorrow), about a woman haunted by the abuse suffered by her mother.

REEL Ladies provides a platform for filmmakers to showcase their work and to promote their film projects. Filmmakers present their film trailers in front of a supportive group of like minded women and provide audiences a brief synopsis & status of their films.

We have screened over 25 trailers at our Networking and Spotlight Events. Submit yours now and have your trailers screened!

All genres accepted

Only taking submissions by women filmmakers & actresses.

MUST have a hard copy DVD format of your trailer.

There is NO COST to submit and filmmakers MUST be in attendance in order to present their trailers.

                Adenrele Ojo

Since moving to L.A., Adenrele was nominated for the 2006 L.A. Stage Alliance Ovation Award for Featured Actress in a Play. Ms. Ojo has also performed in such plays as Freedom Theatre’s Black Nativity and August Wilson’s Jitney (opposite Harold Perrineau). She has done several films including shorts, Kai and Sistahs In the Name of Love, which was chosen for the Jury Award for Best Film in the ‘Women of African Decent Film Festival as well as features Within and the soon to be premiered Family. Adenrele recently had THREE films premiere at the Pan African Film Festival!

REEL Screening Series - Feature Length Film Screenings of films either Written, Directed or Produced by a woman. REEL Ladies is looking for emerging filmmakers with creative visions to promote and discuss their films! All genres are accepted. However, we are looking for films that deal with women’s issues and portray women in a positive light. Screenings are followed by a Filmmaker Q&A, to discuss their filmmaking process as well as the film. DETAILS HERE
